BLIND GUARDIAN braucht man definitiv nicht mehr vorzustellen. Die deutschen Metaller sind seit realen 30 und gefühlten 1000 Jahren auf den Bühnen dieser Welt erfolgreich unterwegs. Aktuell steht ihr symphonisches Album in den Startlöchern, welches uns 2014 beglücken dürfte.
Mir liegt zur Rezension die Promo-Scheibe „A Traveler’s Guide To Space And Time“ vor, eine Zusammenstellung von 12 neu gemasterten Scheiben, welche alle auch auf dem gleichnamigen Deluxe-Package drauf sind, welcher wieder Teil eines Bonus Pakets ist, das man sich als Fan unbedingt ansehen sollte.
Natürlich ist diese Sammlung nur ein Abklatsch der gesamten, 15 CDs umfassenden Blind Guardian Chronik. Die Tracklist zeigt dann auch Titel aus sämtlichen Epochen des Schaffens der Krefelder Truppe.
Da gibt es keine „neuen“ Titel, der grösste Teil des Materials wurde aber remastered, was bei Songs aus den Achtzigern schon zu gewissen – positiven – Veränderungen führte.
Selbstverständlich gibt es auch neues Material, insbesondere Live-Aufnahmen aus Coburg von 2003, die zum ersten Mal auf CD gebrannt wurden oder „An Extraordinary Tale“ mit Live-Raritäten und Demos.
Ein besonderes Häppchen dürfte aber die 2012 völlig neu abgemischte gemasterte „Nightfall In Middle-Earth“ sein – für viele BLIND GUARDIAN Fans sowieso das Album überhaupt. Wobei, BLIND GUARDIAN und Lord Of The Rings Fans kommen da noch mehr zum Zug.
Zu den Titeln auf dieser Compilation kann – abgesehen davon, dass es einfach cooler BG-Stoff ist – gesagt werden, dass die Aufnahmequalität der Hammer ist. Klassische Songs einer klassischen Metaltruppe in bester 2012-er-CD-Qualität.
Was will man mehr? Und CHF 159.90 für eine auf 8000 Exemplare limitierte BG-Sammlung (15 CDs) ist ja nun auch nicht sooo viel Geld.
